New Delhi: Following the conclusion of the G20 Summit in Delhi and the transfer of the G20 presidency to Brazil, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a series of extensive bilateral discussions with leaders from the Netherlands, Comoros, the African Union, Canada, Brazil, Turkey, South Korea, Germany, Nigeria, France, the European Commission, and the European Council. During the sidelines of the G20 summit, PM Modi conducted a total of 10 bilateral meetings today.
Prime Minister Modi met with French President Emmanuel Macron for a productive lunch meeting in Delhi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. PM Modi stated, “I had a very productive lunch meeting with President Emmanuel Macron. We discussed a wide range of topics and are looking forward to elevating India-France relations to new heights of progress.”
Additionally, PM Modi held bilateral discussions with Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi. Following their meeting, PM Modi said, “I had an excellent meeting with Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte. We discussed ways to enhance the friendship between our nations. There is immense scope for cooperation between our businesses, including strong ties in clean energy, semiconductors, digital technology, and more.”
Furthermore, PM Modi engaged in bilateral talks with the President of the Union of Comoros and Chairperson of the African Union (AU), Azali Assoumani, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi. PM Modi stated, “I held a meeting with the President of the Union of Comoros and the Chairperson of the African Union (AU), Azali Assoumani. Our discussions focused on advancing India-Comoros ties in sectors like trade, investments, and maritime cooperation. I also congratulated him on the African Union becoming a permanent member of the G20.”
PM Modi also met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of the G20 summit. PM Modi mentioned, “I met PM Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. We discussed the full range of India-Canada ties across different sectors.”
Additionally, PM Modi held fruitful talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. After their meeting, PM Modi commented, “I had an excellent meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The ties between India and Brazil are very strong. We discussed ways to boost trade and cooperation in agriculture, technology, and more. I also conveyed my best wishes for Brazil’s upcoming G20 Presidency.”
PM Modi engaged in productive discussions with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi. PM Modi remarked, “The deliberations with President Yoon Suk Yeol were extensive. We reviewed the complete spectrum of bilateral relations and agreed to further enhance commercial and cultural ties between India and the Republic of Korea.”
Furthermore, PM Modi met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Delhi and expressed his gratitude for enriching the G-20 Summit with his views. They also discussed how India and Germany can continue working together in clean energy, innovation, and towards a better planet.
On the last day of the G20 Summit in New Delhi, PM Modi held bilateral talks with the President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu. PM Modi expressed, “It was a delight to meet President Bola Tinubu earlier today. Our talks were fruitful and will surely add momentum to the strong relations between India and Nigeria. Our key focus areas are trade and cultural exchanges.”
Lastly, PM Modi met European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel on the sidelines of the G20 summit. PM Modi praised India-EU cooperation in futuristic sectors, including green hydrogen.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also engaged in bilateral discussions with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, where they discussed ways to further strengthen trade and infrastructure linkages between India and Turkey.
