Dive into the exciting world of Overwatch 2’s Hero Mastery mode, where mastering your favourite heroes takes centre stage! Discover the latest updates, Anniversary event teasers, and more. Don’t miss out on the action!
Blizzard has officially introduced the Hero Mastery mode in Overwatch 2’s latest update. This new game mode allows players to complete challenges using various heroes from the roster, facilitating a deeper understanding and mastery of each hero’s skills.
Initially intended for the grand Season 6 launch of Overwatch 2, the Hero Mastery mode faced a delay. Nevertheless, Season 6 didn’t disappoint, marking the most significant update since the game’s original early access launch in 2022. It introduced the new Support hero Ilari, the Flashpoint game mode, and the game’s inaugural PvE story missions.
For Overwatch 2 players who have explored the story content and seek fresh non-PvP experiences, the Hero Mastery mode is now available. This single-player mode includes leaderboards and offers three difficulty levels for each hero, with the aim of achieving five stars with every hero on Overwatch 2’s roster. Initially, Mercy, Reinhardt, and Tracer are available, with Sojourn and Winston set to join later in the season.
Hero Mastery isn’t the only exciting aspect of Overwatch 2 Season 6. Blizzard has also teased what’s in store for the Overwatch 2 Anniversary celebration, starting on September 19. During the event, limited-time Overwatch 2 modes like Battle for Olympus, Catch-A-Mari, Starwatch, and Mischief and Magic will make a return. Players can also look forward to Legendary skins in the shop, purchasable with Overwatch Credits earned through special Anniversary challenges.
Following the Anniversary event, Overwatch 2’s next seasonal event will likely be the Halloween Terror event, typically held in October. This event usually brings new Halloween-themed skins and the return of fan-favourite game modes like Junkenstein’s Revenge. While surprises may await this year’s Halloween event, Overwatch 2 enthusiasts will have to wait for further details. In the meantime, they can dive into the latest update and mark their calendars for the Anniversary event starting on September 19.
